The Legend of Krispy Kreme

Since forever, people have been talking about the greatest donut they've tried...how it melts in your mouth, and its luscious taste...Of course they were talking about Krispy Kreme. I've always chose Dunkin Donuts as my favorite, or Tim Horton's, before I knew they put some pig fat in it. I've never tasted Krispy Kreme because the last time I've been to the States was in 98, and I haven't been to London since 95. Every year at least one of my friends has tell me, "OH, I had a whole box of Krispy Kreme before I came back here. It is so....I can't explain how great it is!" All I thought was I can't wait to try this donut sometime when I go to the States or London! Well i didn't go to either of these places. A few months ago, I heard that Krispy Kreme would be opening soon in Kuwait. I was like "THE Krispy Kreme?" yep...the original. When I was in dubai during the Eid one of my friends called me and told me that it opened in Marina Mall replacing the one and lonely Cup&Cino. I was happy they closed that cafe. Let's face it people...it was a total failure! Anyway, I was back from Dubai Thursday night and couldn't wait for Friday to come so I could go and have a bit of those Krispy Kremes. As my friend recommended, I should try the original glazed first. Come Friday, I'm off to Marina to buy half a dozen (since I decided to go on a diet...yeah right) of Krispy Kreme donuts. I chose to try a variety of flavors and not just stick to one, so I bought the original glazed, New York cheesecake, and chocolate glazed. Listening to my friend's recommendation, I had the original glazed first. I was waiting for this dreamy, fancy, I don't know what else to say, taste. Nothing tasted special. "I've ate this before" was all I could say. I thought that maybe Krispy Kreme in the US& London use a different kind of dough, for people to say all that about the donuts. I'll judge when I decide to go there someday. But seriously people, better ones have been made in the history of donuts. I might get harsh criticisms for what I've said, but that's my opinion. It's a free country, isn't it?
