I passed by Virgin Megastore today and found out it was closed down by the Ministry of Information. It has been closed since April 26th until further notice! Bummer! It wasn't really that good in the first place except for the electronics and video games sections. They didn't have a good collection of CD's and DVD's. I heard that they were selling "inappropriate" videos, and in here, inappropriate is when a movie or a TV show is rated PG-13 I guess.
Maybe the Ministry has done something right since some kids buy dvds and cds that are age inappropriate, and without the supervision of adults. If Virgin opens up again but with the Ministry's restrictions, would the CD and DVD aisles be shrunk? I think that Virgin might shut down, because if electronics were the main thing in there, we could purchase them in other places for better deals, and they forget about profits. Good luck to them!

loooooooool. The problem is that when a little kid goes to Hawalli or a Jabriya, he/she could find explicit adult videos (uncensored)! So we really need to enforce the age ratings, and allow all movies (except aduls ones off course) in our movie theatres! Anyways, I've heard a rumor that says Virgin was closed because they were selling improper/illegal books! Anyways, I've heard they re-opened again! So you could go there and shop as you like :)
