Question
This is an economics question that I just had in my mind as I was cruising the streets of Dubai. What would happen to The Taxis' business when the Dubai Metro launches?
Would it affect the demand for Taxis all around Dubai?

Ok, well economically, the demand would fall drastically due to a substitute service. However, many people (at least here in Kuwait) including tourists would prefer taxis over public transportation! Therefore, I think that the taxi industry would take a hit, yet not as big as we imagine! :P
you're right. Ana ba3ad what I'm seeing in here that there's a competitive market of taxis. A few years back there were only 1 or two Taxi companies and now there are around 5 or 6. I still think that the Metro would be something big in here, but I hope it doesn't turn out to be like those public buses.
