Coffee Anyone?

Where do you find the best freshly brewed coffee? Most of you would say Starbucks. As for me, I'd head to Le Pain, 2nd cup, or Seattle's Best. Since Starbucks opened about 7-8 years ago in here, it's been the major hang out place for Kuwaitis. Of course, there were the popular Starbucks, and there were the ones where people actually go there just to drink coffee, do business, or read their newspaper in a tranquil atmosphere. I for one, don't go to Starbucks unless I really want to catch up with old friends. I think of it as a cosy place to enjoy my time with friends if we weren't in the mood to go to restaurants. Sometimes I'd wear my trainer pants and sneakers to go to the supermarket then pass by to get a muffin or a drink. Just as I enter the Cafe, people sitting in there pause, stare, and stare, then go back to what they were doing...staring at other people. It feels like I'm walking through a dark alley surrounded by cats who suddenly flash their eyes upon me. I'm not a big fan of Starbucks really especially in here. Sometimes some people set a bluetooth rendezvous in there and it just cracks me up. Aren't you brave enough to go talk to her? Or are you scared that someone would see you. I already caught you texting eachother so get over it! When I was in Dubai, I actually enjoyed going there. Sometimes I'd take my books and study and at other times I'd have my laptop with me. There's not much distraction, whether it was guys goofing around or girls showing up with their disastrous sense of fashion as I see them in here. It confuses me why some girls would wear tons of make up as if they're going to a party or something. I also wonder why some have wierd hair-do's. They practically look like aliens to me with the gigantic hair volume. I'm just generalizing. Of course, there are the well-dressed girls and the sophisticated guys, you just have to dig deep.

Cafes I recommend:
*Le Pain Quotidien (The Palms, Marina Crescent)
*Seattle's Best (Marina Mall...to go coffee)
*Second Cup (Beside CBK, Kuwait City)
*Starbucks (The Palms, Hilton Mangaf)
